We have almost 400
children in our school. The children are separated into
three syndicates- Junior, Middle and Senior. The ages of the
children at Kamo Primary range from 5 years old to 11 years
old. When they leave their last year (Year 6 ), they go on
to Kamo Intermediate for two more years, then on to Kamo
High School until they leave school at 16 years old and
either go to University or find a job.
Room 3 is in the Senior
Syndicate. The senior children have many responsibilities in
the daily running of the school. These are some of them:
they look after road crossings, under teacher supervision;
they hand out P.E. equipment during playtimes; they look
after the younger children during wet playtimes.
We'll give you a few tips
on how to recognise our school.... There's a long block of
classrooms with a New Zealand flag above them, at one end of
the school, and at the other end, there is a Kohanga Reo- a
maori language pre-school.

This is our
location in Northland, New Zealand.

This is a basic map of
our school.

Our school is over 125
years old. We had a very successful 125 anniversary
celebration in 1998. This is the Senior and Middle block
with the adminstration area in the middle.

This is our library
which is fully computerised. Classes help create a vibrant
environment by displaying work from current
topics.

Classes are usually
bright and vibrant with displays of their artwork and
published written Language.

Each class has a
networked iMac computer with it's own email account and
access to the internet.

Here a New Entrant
teacher works with some of our newest pupils.
We have three
playground equipment areas, two are covered by
shadecloths.

Our school is well
resourced. Here is some shelving which stores most of our
curriculum resources.
